What do we do? We are a long running, friendly club. The main type of competitive events we organise are trials and punch hunts (sorry, no Safari Racing or Speed Events).
What is a trial? A trial is an event held off road (generally on rough/uneven/challenging private ground). It is a test of driver skill and vehicle capability. The actual competition itself consists of 8 or more short courses, which will be marked out with pairs of marker canes over rough ground, ditches etc. The object of the exercise is to drive through the pairs of canes without touching them, or stopping (sound easy!... come & try it). Obviously, to maintain vehicle control, a steady speed of about walking pace is required as you are not racing against the clock. The scoring system works on how far you manage to travel before you stop forward motion or touch a marker cane, the score being defined by numbers on the cane.
